We’re huge advocates of alternative routes to learning, and making it relevant to all. Maths might be one of the biggest challenges; its rigid principles seemingly essential to understanding. The problem, says US educator and self-confessed “maths lover”, Dan Finkel, is that underestimating maths is leaving a gap in our everyday and future lives.

Dan Finkel is a US educator with a PhD in algebraic geometry. He wants to change the way that we understand and teach maths. He’s written a book called Math For Love, and in this TEDx Talk he explores some of the barriers to learning and how we can overcome them.
