Children in primary school are embarking on their first experiences of education. Furthermore, as Alex Gingell, Marlborough Primary School’s Deputy Head Teacher says, they often do this as part of a diverse group, for whom in the UK, English is not always a first language.

A MakerSpace like this one allows children to be a part of their education. It makes the learning experience in the classroom supportive, collaborative and fun – an essential route to engagement. As one of the pupils says, ‘making’ teaches the invaluable skill of persistence, to “keep trying”; a vital skill to have when approaching new challenges throughout life.
